Department History
he Department of Civil Engineering at Balıkesir University has held an important place in the field of engineering since the establishment of the university. Following the foundation of Balıkesir University in 1992, education was initiated in various engineering disciplines, and the Department of Civil Engineering was established during this period, adopting a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering education nationwide.
The primary mission of the Department of Civil Engineering has been to provide students with fundamental engineering knowledge, while also equipping them with practical skills to train qualified engineers for the construction sector. The department has aimed to prepare graduates capable of contributing to diverse infrastructure projects and specializing in areas such as structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources engineering, and transportation engineering.
